In her first post graduate collection of Art Jewellery Julie Lorraine is exploring the latest dark matter experiments and scientific enquiry. Combining thorough research with material experiments, Julie utilises found objects alongside precious metals and innovative processes to create wearable works of art. 

Featuring hand cut pitch stone collected from a beach near Julie's family home on the isle of Bute, the new collection includes several 'one-off' pieces painstakingly set with hundreds of gemstones. Contrasting the pitchstone are precious metal features with unconventional finishes. Some pieces are wearable in more than one way as wearers are encouraged to explore the subject as well as the object.
